About UsThe physicians at Wheatfield Pediatrics specialize in the care of children from birth to age 18. Our physicians, nurses and office staff are committed to providing the best possible medical care for your child in a professional, yet caring and compassionate manner.
We encourage the development of healthy lifestyles in our young patients. We perform well-child examinations and immunizations in accordance with the schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition, we have two lactation consultants on staff to assist nursing mothers with their special needs and concerns.Of course no one plans to have a sick child; therefore we are usually able to schedule you a "same-day" sick appointment. If you must cancel an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. A $30.00 service fee will be charged for all no-show appointments. Please make every effort to be on time for appointments; we will also try to see you for your appointment promptly.
Prescription refills should be requested during regular office hours. Refills will be called into your pharmacy by the end of the day.
In addition to our usual daytime hours, we also offer evening and Saturday morning hours. We encourage patients to schedule regular check ups in advance. There are various times during the year where there is a rush of requests for school physicals and sports clearance examinations. Please make sure you do not find yourself in a position, which the child cannot return to school or sports because of medical clearance. We try our best to accommodate all requests, but sometimes it may be impossible.In the event of an emergency during hours that the office is not open, we will provide you with a telephone number to contact the provider on call so that you may discuss your concerns. Unless you feel your child's illness may be life threatening, we encourage parents to call us prior to seeking Emergency Room treatment.
The doctors at Wheatfield Pediatrics have hospital affiliations with the Kaleida Health System, including Children's Hospital of Buffalo and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, as well as Sisters of Charity Hospital. Should your child require more specialized care than our office can provide, we work closely with many of the various specialists and pediatric facilities throughout Western New York.
